World's fashion industry embraces both haute couture (clothes made by individual designers for a small and wealthy clientele), and garments produced on a wider commercial basis and sold in high-street shops, chain stores, and department stores, and by mail order. The major centres of the fashion industry are Paris, London, Milan, New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Dusseldorf. Leading Parisian fashion houses include Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain, Yves St Laurent, and Chanel. Gabriel Coco Chanel was born in France. Because of the death of her mother and the misery of her father Coco had to spend her childhood in the orphan-asylum. Then Chanel studied in the monastic school, where she began to sew. For many years she had to wear a featureless uniform so it`s not surprising that Coco grew up with a strong desire to change something in the world of vogue. Gabriel began to create Chanel fashion, as it would be then called, since the moment when one of her admires gave her bonnet atelier. After the First World War Chanel was a trendsetter. Before the Second World War Coco Chanel decided to leave the world of luxury but in the middle fifties she opened her own fashion house where Chanel fashion was God and King. Chanel clothing now is subjected to the common canons that were determined by great Coco Chanel. Little black dress is still a symbol of feminine. Pullovers, tight skirts below the knees (Chanel thought women`s knees to be very ugly and sharp), straight jackets and trousers of the clerk style make Chanel fashion of a present-day women. Though mention should be made that Coco did not wear trousers by herself, for her they were exceptionally man`s fashion. Corsets, fluffy skirts, laces, ruches, flounces impede a real woman and quite the contrary simple clear accurate and strict lines are perfection themselves. Women all over the world wear Chanel clothing with delight. Women were especially fond of Chanel costumes and many celebrities would wear them. We should name one of them - Lady D. Undoubtedly, Princess Diana knew fashion like the back of her hand, and that is the reason why people watched her always wearing Chanel clothing. Chanel once said, that to be elegant and fascinating, it was not necessary for a lady to be young and beautiful. There is certainly no Chanel fashion without Chanel eyewear. As far back as in ancient times, people in Egypt protected their eyes and faces from the sun with the help of the sheets of papyrus. Few people knew that it was Coco Chanel who made suntan to be stylish in the twentieth century. Since then, Chanel eyewear too worked through to the top of popularity. Chanel eyewear really deserves this, as it is not simply a piece of wire, of plastic and of glass. Chanel eyewear is a real work of art just like other things of Chanel fashion. Nowadays Chanel fashion house put in the market not only beautiful but also effectively protecting eyewear which are covered with special type of melanin (hormone which is responsible for the color of hair and skin); that helps to avoid harmful ultra-violet rays and premature ageing. So, there are a lot of Chanel eyewear styles which differ in shape and materials they are made of. One thing remains always unchangeable, that Chanel eyewear constantly harmonizes with Chanel clothing. Chanel fashion woman is elegant, beautiful, and stylish. A woman like that will always be surrounded by admireres, because Coco when creating her fashion followed one of her main rules: "A woman must follow men's opinion in chosing her wear, because if she listens only to her friends` advice, she will be simply absurd and funny."
